<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>111</id><JournalTitle>ROLE OF FIVE GRAIN FLOUR IN OBESITY: A CLINICAL STUDY</JournalTitle><Abstract>Obesity has reached epidemic proportions in India in the 21st century, with morbid obesity affecting 5% of the
country's population. This is only the tip of an iceberg and the incidence is growing. India is following a trend of other
developing countries that are steadily becoming more obese. The present study was intended to study the role of five grain
flour in obesity. The objective of this study was to investigate the role of five grain flour in reduction of body weight by
carrying out intervention study in obese persons. 30 obese patient were selected randomly from National Institute of
Ayurveda, Jaipur. They were instructed for preparation of â€œFive grain flourâ€ and its use in place of wheat flour for 2 month
regularly in dose of 200gm /day for female and 300gm/day for male in form of chapatti with few dietary instructions. This
was a self as control study; all the participants were assessed before and after the dietary regimen prescribed. Assessment was
done on the basis of changes in BMI (Queteletâ€™s index), weight, waist circumference and hip circumference. The intervention
consisted five grain flour consist of Barley, Wheat, Green Gram, Maize and Fenugreek seeds. The results of study show that
patients decreased their BMI, weight etc. and feel better than earlier. Statistical graph show very good and highly significant
result, 7% weight reduced, BMI showed good reduction, 63.3 % patients comes under 20-25 BMI and 36.67% comes
between 25-30 BMI (over weight) from obese grade. In Further study there should be large sample in various groups in
