In the present study, the ethanolic
extract of Tribulus terrestris was subjected to phytochemical screening and GC-MS analysis. Fifteen compounds were
identified. The major compound was n-hexadecanoic acid (39.83%), followed by 2-Cyclopentene-1-undecanoic acid,(+)-
(16.19%) and Lauroyl peroxide (15.10%). 1-Nonadecanol, Methoxyacetic acid, 3-tridecyl ester, Valeric acid, 2-pentadecyl
ester, 2-Propenoic acid, pentadecyl ester was present in less amount. Identification of the bioactive compounds and its activity
will be scientific evidence for traditional herbal drugs.
<Email> gksridhar75@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>6</volume><issue>1</issue><year>2016</year><keyword>Bio active compounds,TT,GC-MS analysis</keyword><AUTHORS>Sridhar K,Rajesh B,Sangeetha K</AUTHORS><afflication>Department of Anatomy, Sri Lakhsmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Bharath University, Puducherry, India.,Department of Anatomy, Sri Lakhsmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Bharath University, Puducherry, India.,Department of Community Health Nursing, Vinayaka Missions college of Nursing, Puducherry, India.</afflication></Article></Articles>
