many life threatening and chronic diseases in therapeutic areas like oncology, immunology, rheumatology, diabetes and
inherited conditions. Biosimilars are biological products manufactured after expiry of the patent of innovator
biopharmaceuticals. As the patents of a growing number of biologic medicines are due to expire, there is an increased interest
in the development of biosimilars. They are larger and more complex molecules to manufacture. So, minor changes in
manufacturing process can cause significant changes in efficacy and safety of the product. The quality comparison between
biosimilars and innovator product is crucial and performed in every step to demonstrate biosimilarity
<Email> drgujjarla@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Review</articletype><volume>6</volume><issue>1</issue><year>2016</year><keyword>Biologics,Biosimilars</keyword><AUTHORS>Hima Bindu Gujjarlamudi</AUTHORS><afflication>Assistant Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, India.</afflication></Article></Articles>
