symptoms of seasonal allergies. The reported adverse effects with montelukast are abnormalities in hepatic dysfunction,
Churg-Strauss syndrome and to a rare mention of sedation. We report a case of severe degree of sedation with montelukast in
an elderly male who is a known case of IHD, HT and admitted with LRTI. The patient recovered completely after
discontinuation of montelukast. The rarity and the clinical importance of this adverse effect prompted us to report it here.
<Email> cdcsushant@hotmail.com</Email><articletype>casereport</articletype><volume>6</volume><issue>1</issue><year>2016</year><keyword>Montelukast,Sedation,Adverse effects</keyword><AUTHORS>Yogeeta S.C.Walke,Ian Antao Pereira, Lois James Samuel</AUTHORS><afflication>Assistant Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, Goa Medical College, Bambolim, Goa,Assistant Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, Goa Medical College, Bambolim, Goa,Assistant Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, Goa Medical College, Bambolim, Goa</afflication></Article></Articles>
