<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>199</id><JournalTitle>COMPARISON OF THE BLOOD PARAMETERS BEFORE AND AFTER ADMINISTRATION OF THE AYURVEDIC FORMULATION â€“ SEPTILIN TO YOUNG HEALTHY COLLEGE STUDENTS â€“ A CASE CONTROL STUDY</JournalTitle><Abstract>The commonly used ayurvedic polyherbal formulation, Septilin, is known for its anti-microbial & anti-inflammatory properties. It contains Tinospora cordifolia (Heart-leaved moonseed) as its major ingredient. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of the tablet formulation of Septilin on Hemoglobin level, Total WBC count, RBC count, Differential count, Platelet count and IgG levels in the given blood sample. Tab. Septilin was administered to 30 students in the dosage of  1 tablet twice a day for a period of two months. The effects on blood components were studied before and after the tablet intake. There was a statistically significant difference in the IgG levels in students after the intake of the tablet Septilin(p < 0.001). There was an increase in the WBC count after intake of Septilin, while no significant differences were observed in the other parameters. Further, there was no incidence of adverse events. The present study highlighted that the Tablet Septilin containing Tinospora cordifolia as its major ingredient, was clinically effective and safe, for increasing the activity of the immune system. Hence it was concluded that, it might be used as an adjunct in patients undergoing surgery to improve their post-operative wound  healing.  </Abstract><Email>drsangbalu@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>9</volume><issue>1</issue><year>2019</year><keyword>Septilin, Tinospora cordifolia, Immunomodulator, IgG.</keyword><AUTHORS>B.
