antibiotics. The list of causative drugs changes with time and prescribing patterns but there has been no recent data on
FDE seen in an outpatient setting in North India. Objective: We aimed to evaluate the epidemiology, clinical features and
causative drugs in patients with FDE in North India. We analyzed and reviewedall patients seen with suspected adverse
cutaneous reactions in the outpatient setting at DMCH Ludhiana, for one year. Using Causality Evaluation of the data was
done for various parameters, which included demographics, drug and ADR characteristics and outcome of the ADRS
Causality assessment was done by with three different scales. Naranjo Adverse Drug Reaction Probability Scale, the
modified Hartwig’s severity scale and preventability criteria according to Schumock and Thornton scale. We identified
105 patients who were seen for suspected FDE. In Conclusion NSAIDS were the most frequent cause of FDE in our study.
Other than that another routinely prescribed drug the combination pill that is a fluoroquinolone or cephalosporin with an
antihelthminic drug, is high on the list of antimicrobials causing FDE and we caution that DMARDS, such as
Leflunamide, should also be considered.
<Email>poonamjatana@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>9</volume><issue>1</issue><year>2019</year><keyword>Fluoroquinolone, Cephalosporin, Antihelthminic.</keyword><AUTHORS>Poonam Jatana,Gurpoonam K Jatana,Sunil K Gupta,Sandeep Kaushal</AUTHORS><afflication>Poonam Jatana,Gurpoonam K Jatana,Sunil K Gupta,Sandeep Kaushal</afflication></Article></Articles>
