They are
also defined histologically as a breach in the mucosa of the alimentary tract that extends through the muscularis mucosa in to
the submucosa layer. The aim of our study is to evaluate the aqueous extract of leaves of Merremia emarginata(In vivo and In
vitro)".The leaves under investigation (Merremia emarginata) was successfully extracted using water as the solvent. The
Phytochemical studies revealed the presence of alkaloids, Saponins, Tannins, Phloba tannins, Flavonoids, Glycosides,
reducing sugars and terpenoids. Antiulcer activity was performed in vivo using indomethacin induced gastric ulceration rat
model and the extract was found to possess good ulcer protective properties. The extract at concentration of 500mg/kg,
produced significant reduction in the ulcer index as that of standard
<Email>eeswar24@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>12</volume><issue>2</issue><year>2022</year><keyword>Merremia emarginata,Ulcers,In vivo and In vitro,Anti-ulcer</keyword><AUTHORS>P.
