Current therapies rely
heavily on synthetic drugs, which are associated with side effects and limited efficacy. In this study, phytoconstituents of
mimusopselengi (Spanish cherry), a traditional medicinal plant known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, were
evaluated through computational approaches. Ten bioactive compounds were identified, and their pharmacokinetic (ADME)
properties were analysed using Swiss ADME, followed by molecular docking studies against arthritis related protein targets
retrieved from the protein data bank. The results revealed that orientin (-8.2675 kcal/mol) and myricetin (-8.0070 kcal/mol)
exhibited the highest binding affinity, surpassing other tested compounds. These findings support the potential of mimusops
elengi phytoconstituents as lead candidates for anti-arthritic drug development.
<Email>Dr. Suresh V @gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>15</volume><issue>2</issue><year>2025</year><keyword>Anti-arthritis, Mimusopselengi, Phytoconstituents, Molecular docking, Targeted proteins, Swiss dock, Binding affinity</keyword><AUTHORS>Dr. Suresh V, Dr. Senthil Kumar S.K,Devi R,Dhanasekar S, Ganesh C,Gokul P,Gokulakrishnan N</AUTHORS><afflication>Assistant Professor, Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Arunai College of Pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India,Principal, Department of pharmaceutics, ArunaiCollege of Pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India,B.Pharmacy Final Year Students, Arunai College of Pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India,B.Pharmacy Final Year Students, Arunai College of Pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India,B.Pharmacy Final Year Students, Arunai College of Pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India,B.Pharmacy Final Year Students, Arunai College of Pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India,B.Pharmacy Final Year Students, Arunai College of Pharmacy, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
