60HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITY OF AQUEOUS EXTRACT OF STEM-BARK OF DOLICHANDRONE FALCATA IN CARBON TETRA CHLORIDE INTOXICATED ALBINO RATSThe present study aimed at investigating plausible liver protecting traditional plant Dolichandrone falcata through literature survey and evaluating hepatoprotective activity of aqueous extract of stem bark of Dolichandrone falcate against Carbon tetra Chloride (CCl4) intoxicated model of hepatitis. CCl4 induce hepatotoxicity was evaluated by an increase (P<0.01) in serum SGOT, SGPT activity and bilirubin level. Aqueous extract of stem bark of Dolichandrone falcata protects the CCl4 induced toxicity by restoring altered serum marker enzymes towards near normal.
