<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>67</id><JournalTitle>CHANGING TRENDS OF DRUGS CAUSING FIXED DRUG REACTIONS REPORTED AT A TERTIARY CENTRE, GUJARAT, INDIA</JournalTitle><Abstract>Drug reactions are very frequently seen by physicians in day to day practice. Fixed drug eruption is a distinctive type
of adverse cutaneous reaction to an ingested drug that occurs in the same locations upon reexposure to the offending drug,
though usually not fatal, can cause enough cosmetic embarrassment if present on the exposed part due to residual
hyperpigmentation. To find out the most common drugs responsible for the fixed drug reactions along with the most common
sites. The study was carried out from April 2010 to March 2011 in the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and
Leprology of Shri Krishna Hospital attached to Pramukhswami Medical College, Karamsad, Gujarat, India. 23 patients of
FDR were studied. Diclofenac was the most common drug causing fixed drug reaction. Other drugs found to cause reaction
includes Cotrimoxazole, Norfloxacin, Metronidazole, Doxycycline, Ornidazole, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Chloroquine and
Fluconazole. The commonest lesions were hyperpigmented patches over genitals. This study helps to investigate the drug
